Guest Highlight: Dr. Sheila Laffey
Sheila Laffey is President of Echo Mountain Productions Inc. who has produced, directed and written award winning documentaries, children’s programs, mostly on the environment. Her latest film is the award winning short doc, THE LAST STAND “? HEROES AT BALLONA WETLANDS which airs in 2004-5 in the new Public Television series, Natural Heroes. Her episode won a Telly Award for the series. It previewed at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles on Earth Day, 2004 during the Artivist Film Festival and won Best Documentary at the ION Film Festival, the twelfth award that the series has received. She produced co-directed and co-wrote The Last Stand “? The Struggle for Ballona Wetlands (1998) and its update in 2000) hosted by Edward Asner.
