Guest Highlight: Sara Laimon

Sara Laimon Luke, educator and consultant, is the co-author of the Green Ambassador Curriculum, the award-winning environmental service-learning curriculum that has transformed learning across California. After seven years in the classroom as a biology and environmental science teacher, Laimon became inspired to design a method to equip any teacher, in any discipline to empower their students to make a sustainable difference in their own lives and in their community.  www.greenambassadors.org


Sara Laimon appearances on KPFK

Albe Zakes and Terra Cycle take recycling one step further. Using this new model of “Eco-capitalim,” they take waste and make it  into new products without them even hitting the landfills.  Later in the program they’re joined by Sara Laimon, from an environmental charter  high school.  She has started the Green Ambassadors.  Through service learning, community partnerships, and cross-cultural and global exchange, the Green Ambassadors foster personal growth and leadership skills to help youth tackle the most critical environmental issues facing our planet.
