Guest Highlight: Arthur Blaustein
Professor Arthur Blaustein teaches Community Development and Public Policy at UC Berkeley. He was appointed to the Board of the National Endowment for the Humanities by President Bill Clinton and served as Chairman of the board of The National Advisory Council on Economic Opportunity under President Jimmy Carter. In 1995 he received the John Dewey Award For Distinguished Public Service. He has written and edited several books including The American Promise – Justice and Opportunity and Democracy is Not a Spectator Sport. He helped found and was the faculty adviser to both the AmeriCorps and Habitat for Humanity programs on the UC Berkeley campus. www.publicservice.berkeley.edu
